A woman who is originally from Russia.
She is Jewish ethnically. She moved to Israel in 2015. After living there for 3 months she acquired Israeli citizenship and got an Israeli passport. She had to prove her eligibility for the citizenship with presenting documents that her father was Jewish to the Israeli authorities. She owns two passports, Russian and the Israeli one. She uses the Israeli one in Europe. It is difficult to travel with the Russian one due to the Russo-Ukrainian armed conflict.
I asked her if any of her predecessors were born in Israel and moved to the USSR. She answered that all of them were born in the territory of current Russia as far as she can remember.
Approximately in 2018, she invested in the bitcoin. She sold it in 2021 and earned 5 000 000 Russian rubles (59 000 € as of 14. 5. 2023). She educated in the field of cryptocurrencies on her own. Then she used Binance online portal to invest. She holds a master’s degree in radio-frequency engineering. She worked as a radio engineer part of her life.
5 million rubles reminded me of a joke: “How do we call 50 cent in Russia?” I showed the joke to her. She laughed cordially. She also added that after she put the money to good use, she transferred the final sum among multiple digital exchange offices. As a result Mr Putin didn’t get any rubles (taxes) for his war machine.
All members of her family including her husband are dead. After earning the money via bitcoin, she decided to catch up with what she didn’t do when she was young. She decided to travel a lot and offer spiritual support to people just by talking to them. As she said: “I stayed and sat at home for too long.”
