He was on the train when a van crashed into it from a side. The van was sprung forwards and outwards from the train. Neither he nor a conductor nor a train driver noticed they were hit by the van. It is a feeling as if you run over an apple on a bicycle. He said a passenger train breaking distance is 500 metres and 2 km for a cargo train. In case of an imminent crash, the train driver pulls a break and has around 1 to 3 seconds to leave a cabin in order to get to the passenger area or to an engine room (depending on the type of a locomotive).
Once he saw an old man picking something up from the railroad or it seemed to be it like that. There was a cargo train on the railroad approaching him. The cargo train driver pulled the brake quite early. Due to the breaking distance of 2 km the cargo train hit the old man. The old man just flew in all directions. He (on the photo) didn’t have courage to come closer because he would get nausea. A conductor from a nearby train who was thick-skinned got off and uttered: “The head is over there and legs are here!”
