“I was planing down on a planer and I was wearing a long sleeve. The planer took my sleeve and pads of all of my fingers away. I got in a car and drove myself to the hospital. I don’t use working gloves because I lose sensitivity in my hands. Once my acquaintance wanted to cut wood on a circular saw. She asked me whether I had wanted to use gloves, mittens. I felt embarrassed to refuse her. The cutting blade (disc) of the circular saw cut through one of my fingers. It took a piece of meat out of the finger. I got in an automobile and drove myself to the hospital. I worked in agriculture my whole life. We were having troubles with a food-and-mouth disease with cows. While we were trying to help them, one of the cows kicked me so hard that a first part of one of my fingers broke pointing up. I sat down on a motorbike and rode myself to the hospital. Once I had a feeling of having a heart arrhythmia. I told myself I needed to get to a medical facility. I got in a car and drove to the nearest one.”
Břetislav Sobek
My name is Bretislav Sobek. I am curious and don’t understand new things. That is the reason why I ask, I write it down and post it.
I have written hundreds of emails to newspaper’s editorial offices. They have answered me once. They wrote me that if I wanted to write I should study journalism including a link to the right faculty. They said it was supposed to be the right place for me.
Others answered with a suspicion that I was a PR manager of a political party. I just wanted to inform my fellow citizens about what I think was important to them.
I applied for Journalists unions. They didn’t accept me and weren’t able to explain me why. The same went for another ten candidates.
And that’s the reason why I decided to set up my own newspaper and named myself a chief editor.
