An owner of a fine arts equipment shop M-art-y in Prague-Dejvice. This district is full of artists and alternative people. Once a small boy entered the shop. A woman got in the shop quickly afterwards. The woman began chatting with her about children and painting. After meeting each other for two years, she found out, the woman she was chatting with about children and painting is an actress, Petra Hrebejkova.

At some other time, a man with a beard in a tracksuit appeared in the shop. He didn’t fit in Prague environment with his outfit. They were talking about children behaviour on the Internet. She has a son (12) and a daughter (10). He asked her what she thinks about this topic (The phenomenon of the Internet and what children can do on it.) When the guy appeared in the shop for the second time, she mentioned a Czech documentary “V síti”. After a short conversation, it turned out the guy was Vít Klusak (The director of the documentary.)

There was a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts to the opposite side of her shop. The director of the centre used painting as a form of a therapy. A huge, tattooed guy popped into her shop. He was in a prison for a grievous bodily harm. Watercolour painting helped him with his problems. It is a soft technique primarily for women. When he told her he had just left the prison, it shocked her because he added “I am cool as long as I don’t get mad.”

She has a son who is very active at school and asks lots of questions. A police department lecture was organized at school. He asked whether he could weigh up the police officer’s gun. She was summoned to school to explain it. It happens to her very often. The teacher asked for her presence at school and complained that not only he expresses his opinions but that he can carry away the whole class. The teacher carried on pouring her heart when she said: “Catch his attention and you’ll see that he will listen to you.” That was the end of the discussion.

Břetislav Sobek

My name is Bretislav Sobek. I am curious and don’t understand new things. That is the reason why I ask, I write it down and post it.

I have written hundreds of emails to newspaper’s editorial offices. They have answered me once. They wrote me that if I wanted to write I should study journalism including a link to the right faculty. They said it was supposed to be the right place for me.

Others answered with a suspicion that I was a PR manager of a political party. I just wanted to inform my fellow citizens about what I think was important to them.

I applied for Journalists unions. They didn’t accept me and weren’t able to explain me why. The same went for another ten candidates.

And that’s the reason why I decided to set up my own newspaper and named myself a chief editor.
